A company reported its doubts on a purchased
reagent and its fungicidal, bactericidal and biocidal properties. Too high unit
price and sanitation requirements imposed on the company required regular
disinfection of its premises.
ACTIONS
An analysis of the working mixture being
purchased was made, with additional verification of alternatives available on
the market. The company’s requirement for disinfectants was determined. An
adequate concentrate was selected, having suitable price (equal to the price of
the mixture being previously purchased) and adequate efficiency, and easy to
apply in working mixtures. The company’s staff was trained in correct dosage
and application of the mixture.
EFFECT
The amount of product being purchased was reduced, at the same time increasing its efficiency at the same price for a unit volume (a concentrate being purchased instead of a working mixture).
The company generated savings (less expenses in a unit of time).
